Keji Moses – Community & Impact Champion Finalist

Keji Moses is a passionate advocate for social justice, community leadership, and

women's empowerment. With a background in social policy and extensive

experience in public service, she has dedicated her career to championing equity,

inclusion, and systemic change.

She is the founder of Mayah’s Legacy, a charity committed to supporting individuals

affected by pregnancy loss and perinatal mental health challenges. Through

advocacy, education, and policy influence, Mayah’s Legacy promotes high-quality,

compassionate, and person-centred care, particularly addressing disparities in

maternity and postnatal services.

Keji currently serves as a Labour/Co-op Party Councillor for Canterbury City

Council, working tirelessly to represent her community, drive progressive policies,

and promote social equity. Her commitment to civic engagement extends to her role

as President of Soroptimist International Canterbury and Vice President for the

Southeast region, where she works to uplift women and girls through service and

advocacy.

In addition, Keji is the Sheriff of Canterbury, a role in which she actively supports

community organisations and charities. She has been a vocal champion of the

invaluable contributions made by volunteers and their impact on society.

A recipient of the Kent Mental Wellbeing Award for Mental Health Leadership

and the Champion Award, Keji is widely recognised for her contributions to mental

health awareness and community development. She also serves as a trustee for

several organisations, including Ethnic Minorities in Canterbury, Chair of

Governors at St John’s CE Primary School, Canterbury & District Food Bank, and

the Taiwo Ajisefinni Foundation.

Keji’s leadership aspirations continue to evolve. She is an active participant in the Jo

Cox Women in Leadership Programme, equipping herself with the skills and

networks to further her mission of creating meaningful change. She is also shaping

the future of healthcare education as a stakeholder for Canterbury Christ Church

University’s new BSc in Midwifery degree programme.
